2008 Strategic Plan
Goal #1
Every precinct in Mercer County will be served by two Democratic
Committeepeople who are well-trained, committed, and effective at
getting out the vote.
What we mean by this: DWMC will work with the County Committee
and the regional committees to identify, recruit, and train candidates
for Democrat Committeepeople in every precinct.
Goal #2
A full slate of Democratic candidates (who are gender and racially
diverse) will powerfully and successfully complete for every elected
position.
What we mean by this: DWMC will work with the County Committee
and the regional committees to identify, recruit, and train candidates
for every political opening in Mercer County. We'll particularly work
on recruiting more women and members of all races.
Goal #3
In partnership with the County and State Democratic Committees,
DWMC will play a dynamic role in increasing voter registration and
voter turnout for every election.
What we mean by this: In addition to helping to develop
Democratic leadership at the precinct level, we are committed to
developing and implementing strategies to Get Out the Vote for
every election.
Goal #4
The membership of DWMC will inform itself and the community on
pertinent civic and political issues and pending legislation.
What we mean by this: We want to be purposeful about educating
our membership and the community about current legislative and
political issues.
Goal #5
As a result of our leadership in the community, the DWMC's
membership will be dynamically growing, multi-generational, and
racially diverse.
What we mean by this: We believe that our membership will
continue to grow as we take on a more focused and dynamic leadership
role in the county. In addition, we are committed to attracting
younger women and more women of color to join us.
