Amish Being Unfairly Targeted

PETITION

We the undersigned hereby request the Public Utility Commission to modify their enforcement of the regulations regarding the issuing of PUC licenses for people transporting the Amish. We call upon the PUC to stop unfairly profiling the Amish for enforcement. We further request that the PUC and the PA Legislature agree upon a moratorium to these crackdowns until a more reasonable solution is being developed. Finally, we call upon the PA Legislature to develop new laws pertaining to paratransit drivers that will acknowledge and protect the unique role of these "taxis" to the Amish way of life.
