Kathy Kloos

On Sunday, November 20 at the Radisson Harrisburg Hotel in Camp Hill, PA the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women honored Kathy Kloos as Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman from our five county region including Erie, Warren, Crawford, Venango and Mercer Counties. Kathy is a founding member of Democrat Women of Mercer County

Kathy currently serves Mercer County in three elected Row Office positions simultaneously: Clerk of Courts, Register of Wills, and Clerk of the Orphans' Court. Since 1995 Kathy has supervised 12 full time and two part-time employees and administered a large budget. Kathy has had extensive legal training, including progressively more responsible positions as a secretary in the law office of Cusick, Madden, Joyce and McKay from 1974-1982, as administrative assistant to Judge Francis Fornelli from 1982-1989, and as legal assistant to Attorney William Madden from 1989-1995 before her election to public service. In her elected positions, Kathy Kloos is responsible for the filings of wills and probate estates, conducting adoption proceedings, and the issuance of marriage licenses and guardianships. Kathy's newest improvement is the preservation of state records from the early 1800s on microfilm. Also within her tenure, Kathy has instituted a new effective cost collection system for the courts that has increased the annual collection from $500,000 to over $1,000,000 for the past three years. Kathy is always moving forward, embracing new ideas and improving our county.

We are thrilled that Kathy Kloos has been recognized for the quality of her work and the strength of her leadership!
