The Democrat Women of Mercer County sponsored a “Party for the Party” to kick-off the campaign season.  Democrats from across Mercer County joined together for a night of food, fun and friendship.

Planning for the Future

In the absence of DWMC President, Missa Eaton, Kathy Cardille conducted the meeting and welcomed guests.

The group worked on long-term planning, which included an updated Strategic Plan and scheduling of future events.

A calendar of upcoming activities with tentative dates was discussed.

The Democrat Women of Mercer County will host a “Party for the Party” at the Agency on Aging (Buhl Farm Drive in Hermitage), 6:00 pm on Saturday, January 21.  This event will mark the beginning of the new election season.  Please click the link below to see all of the details.

DWMC president, Kathy Cardille, opened the meeting with a tribute to men and women serving in the military and veterans. 

She announced that member, Kathy Kloos has been chosen as an “Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman” from District 15 by the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women. Kathy Kloos was a founding member of the DWMC and served as our first secretary.

Cardille then introduced candidates Bob Yeatts, Brian Beader, Bill Moder and Tim Hofius then invited each to speak to the group.

It is time to think about the holidays.  Our party this year will be held on December 10th at Babs Quincy’s and Tom Amundsen’s house.  We hope that you and your guest will join us in this celebration!

The Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women has chosen DWMC member, Kathy Kloos, as this year’s Outstanding Elected Democratic Woman from District Fifteen which includes Warren, Crawford, Erie, Venango and Mercer Counties. Kathy was selected to receive this honor because she has made significant contributions as an elected official to our community and to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She has supported the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women and her local Democratic Party and organizations, and she has encouraged other Democratic women seeking elective office.  Kathy has also been reelected to the office of Mercer County Clerk of Courts for her fifth four-year term.
