Your Precinct May Need You!

Do you know who your Precinct Committeepersons are?

We have many precincts in the county without Committeepersons.  Each precinct should have a Democratic Committeewoman and a Democratic Committeeman, and often, these positions go unfilled.

One important DWMC goal is to help in filling these positions.  The job description of a committeeperson is here

No County Races in 2008

There are no offices up for election at the County level in 2008.  I hope that individuals will send me information about city and township elections, so that I can include that information here.

Tim Hofius Unanimously Appointed Chief Clerk

Although Tim Hofius lost his run for Recorder of Deeds by the slimmest of margins, he's still involved and helping all in the county daily.  All three county commissioners voted to appoint Tim the new Chief Clerk.  Tim is enjoying serving the public, and most recently could be seen serving pancakes to the public at Mark Longietti's Petitions and Pancakes Breakfast.

Democrats Maintain County Majority: 147 Votes from Democratic Sweep

Democrats met to receive the election returns Tuesday evening at the Sharpsville American Legion.  With margins close and teetering back and forth as precinct totals were added, the suspense had many on their feet all evening.

When 100% of the precincts had been reported, the results in all but one race were clearly in favor of the Democrats.

After absentee ballots were counted, the close race for Recorder of Deeds went to Republican Incumbent Rhonda McClelland by a margin of 147 votes.
